What better way to sell underground hip-hop vinyl! During its existence in store, Phono helped bring down the price of vinyl in Quebec City.
Among the customers that became famous later, Phono had among its clients: Guillaume Cantin, Steve Marcoux, Shoody, Boogat, Dj Remz , 83, Black Taboo and local DJ Nerve & DJ Keph were frequent buyers at Phono. David Mathieu among other things, organized many shows at d'Auteuil : Dr Frankenstein, Beat Factory Rap Essentials Vol 1 Tour & Rascalz Cash Crop. .
After the adventure on Saint-Joseph was completed, the founder of Phono, David Mathieu aired a CHYZ broadcast on 94.3 FM for several years. In 2009, phono.ca appeared with a choice of vinyl for the entire planet. The local store has become international.

C’est en mai 1995 qu’a débuté l’aventure de Phono dans le sous-sol du magasin culte Exo.
Quoi de mieux pour vendre des vinyles de hip-hop underground! Durant son existence en magasin, Phono a aidé à faire baissé le prix des vinyles dans la ville de Québec.
Parmi les clients devenus célèbres par la suite, Phono avait parmi ses clients : Guillaume Cantin, Steve Marcoux, Shoody, Boogat, Dj Remz, 83, Black Taboo et au niveau local DJ Nerve & DJ Keph étaient des clients de Phono. David Mathieu a, entre autre, organisé des spectacles au D’Auteuil : Dr Frankenstein, Beat Factory Rap Essentials Vol 1 Tour & Rascalz Cash Crop.
Après que l’aventure de la rue Saint-Joseph se soit terminé, le fondateur de Phono, David Mathieu a sévi sur les ondes de CHYZ 94,3 FM pendant plusieurs années. En 2009, phono.ca est apparu avec un choix de vinyles pour toute la planète. Le magasin local est devenu international.
